Tyler and Megan’s wedding at the wedding venue, At The Bluff in Ferndale, California was everything one would hope it would be on a summer day in Humboldt. The day was a bit windy, as you can see in some of the awesome veil shots I got but that didn’t stop these two lovebirds to committing to each other for a lifetime. Together with all of their family and friends they said I do.
You may remember me blogging about their engagement session and how Tyler and I were born in the same hospital a mere couple of days apart. Little did I know that the kid that would kick his backpack down the street after school would be getting married to the gorgeous Megan and I would have the honor of photographing it.
It was my first time shooting at this venue and it sure didn’t disappoint. I hope to shoot many weddings there in the future as the perfect scenery makes for very romantic photos. I started off the day by photographing the venue’s details and then photographing the bridal details. Getting ready with the girls was so much fun and the guys were having fun too! Instead of the typical getting ready photos for the groom and his guys we opted for some fun and documentary style photos by the bar! What’s better than a guy and his buddies? Moments between the bride and her mother were bitter sweet as a mom sees her daughter’s life flash before her eyes. From taking her first steps to taking those steps down the aisle. Insert tears here. The bride and groom opted for a first look which in my opinion is always a great decision. It seems to make the day go a lot smoother and after the ceremony and then the bride and groom photos, the couple can just let their guard down and enjoy the night with their guests.
Of course this beautiful day couldn’t be possible without the amazing vendors that helped create the magic. Be sure to check them out at the bottom of the blog. And of course, the amount of love family and friends took to create the food and other tidbits were amazing. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Avelar. You’re married!
I just love Megan’s earrings and details. So pretty and classic!
And the guys were sure having fun!
Isn’t little Miss Ayva the cutest?
