It was a windy day here on the North Coast… well, let me back up. I woke up and started getting ready for Jason and Alexandra’s engagement session. It started raining. I remember looking at the forecast and it was supposed to be sunny. I was like, seriously? That’s Humboldt for you. But then the rain stopped but it became extremely windy! We almost, just almost rescheduled but I was like NOPE! Not gonna let some wind ruin our day. Jason and Alex’s session was set to be in Old Town. I simply love shooting there because there are some beautiful buildings. I went early to the session to scope out areas that weren’t affected by the wind. But then I said, heck let’s stop fighting the wind and get some gorgeous and dramatic shots! I’m sure happy with the outcome. We decided to end our session at Sequoia Park as the forrest is important to Jason as he’s a logger. Thank you so much you guys for letting me document your love story! I can’t wait for your wedding in August! Enjoy your blog post!
There’s no better background than a clean, white building. It puts all the focus on my couple!
Can we get more willow trees in Humboldt? I vote for it!
The Carson Mansion is the heart of Old town for sure. So beautiful and rich with history.
It wouldn’t be complete without a photo by the Pink Lady!
There’s a block of white houses with these trimmed hedges and I knew we would have to stop there too!
Now let’s bring on the steamy, windy shots!
Looking at Alexandra’s beautiful brown eyes like… we know why Jason is in love with this gorgeous Portuguese woman!
Next we headed to where Jason proposed! How sweet are these two!
Since Jason works in the timber industry I knew I just needed to bring them to the forrest to finish off their session!
I pinky swear that I want to photograph couples in love for the rest of my career!
Isn’t their love so sweet? They’ve been together since middle school and I think that it’s so adorable. These two truly love each other. You can see it in their eyes by the way they look at each other. Stay tuned for their wedding in August!
